Pony and cycle riding: Connemara ponies and bicycles can be hired locally. The surrounding area is also particularly good for walking and bird watching.
Entertainment: There are regular music and dance performances by local musicians and dancers at the Teach Ceoil in Tully. Contact Michael O'Neill for details. Family entertainment - drama, music and dancing - takes place at Paddy Coynes bar in Tully Cross. Tegolin's Tales Theatre Company perform Celtic Fairy Tales for children and the family, using specially designed masks, in The Teach Ceoil Renvyle, 7.00 pm every Thursday during July and August. Eating out: Most pubs in Tully, Tully Cross and Letterfrack do pub lunches and sandwiches during the day. There are several hotels and restaurants within a 11km radius, and further afield at Leenane and Clifden.
Swimming: At high tide you can swim off the rocks at a cove just in front of the cottage. At other times you can bathe from safe, sandy beaches a few minutes drive away - the White Strand, Tully harbour and, a little further on, at Lettergesh.
National Park: Connemara National Park, Letterfrack, with special supervised children's activities, nature trails, hill and mountain walks, Visitor Centre.
Other local activities: Boat trips (to Inishturk island - which you can see from the living-room window - and Inishboffin island), fishing, scuba diving and golf are all available in the neighbourhood. You may also like to visit Kylemore Abbey, Avoca craft shop, or perhaps the gallery belonging to the local artist E M Audigier.

Shopping: Tully, Tully Cross and Letterfrack are all well supplied with stores carrying a good range of groceries, fresh vegetables, milk, meat, fish, wines and spirits. We recommend Veldon's at Letterfrack and The Renvyle Stores at Tully.
Banks: The nearest ATM is in Letterfrack. If this one is not available, there are ATMs in Clifden.
